Sumatran beans are typically dark-roasted to highlight their full bodies and low acidity. These unique characteristics are a result of wet-hulling, the most common processing method used by Sumatran farmers. Since the climate in this Indonesian island is so moist, farmers partially dry the beans on site and then twice more after leaving the farm, thus producing a rich, complex flavor and aroma.
Given its bold flavor, our Organic Sumatra pairs particularly well with rich and creamy foods. The hints of chocolate will make you want to leave out the milk and sugar. New to Dark Roasts?
