This organic, well-crafted blend, created by our founder Lowell Grosse, is a well-balanced and aromatic coffee combining high quality coffee beans from Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. Enjoy this medium roast coffee first thing in the morning or as an afternoon pick me up and try it as a pour over coffee, to allow its delicate flavors and aromas to come to life. Its well-balanced body and bright taste are equally as inviting as a drip coffee or using a French press. You decide! Why Is Sea Turtle Conservation So Important to Us?
Lowell Grosse founded Charleston Coffee Roasters in 2005. While he was raising his family here in Charleston, he spent many days on our local beaches and visiting the South Carolina Aquarium. Lowell was so passionate about sea turtle conservation, that it inspired our loggerhead “turtle bean” logo and led us to develop a partnership with the South Carolina Aquarium. As the lead sponsor of the Nutritional Care Program at the South Carolina Aquarium, we provide funding for continued animal care to positively impact the lives of the Aquarium’s permanent residents, as well as the treatment and rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles in the care of the South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Care Center™. This is a really delicious coffee. I normally try to buy only the organic coffees but broke my rule to try this as soon as it launched. Who can resist a Loggerhead Sea Turtle Blend? I’m glad I did give it a chance as it really is a great coffee with a rich smooth flavor…just wish it was organic.

I’ve been drinking CCR for about a year now. So far, I’ve tried about 10-12 blends. I was very excited about the addition of the Loggerhead blend. I tried it for the first time today and was not disappointed at all. Loggerhead has the same bright, yet bold flavor I’ve come to expect from CCR. The subtle hints of chocolate and caramel come through from the first sip, and as it cools, it maintains the boldness without becoming bitter. I won’t say it’s my favorite CCR blend yet, but in definitely ranks in the top 3.

I would give the Loggerhead Sea Turtle blend 4.5 stars as so far it’s my 2nd favorite (behind Battalion Blend).
Really nice, smooth coffee that isn’t too bold for me (I prefer lighter roasts) & I could happily drink it black, although I preferred it with sweetener (or with a touch of a flavored syrup…if you like to go heavy on syrups I would recommend Kiawah Organic so the flavor of the coffee isn’t lost).
I imagine this blend would be really good as a cold brew, but I haven’t done it yet – we’re just now hitting morning temps where I’ll consider starting my day with a cold coffee drink 😁

I absolutely LOVE ❤️ this coffee! That first sip just starts my morning off right. I use it in my espresso machine and it makes the best crema! My husband calls it “the good coffee” and I no longer use anything else. I would love to see Costco carry it and in the big bags.
