Coffee Protein Smoothie

There’s no better way to get your day started than with a delicious and healthy Coffee Protein Smoothie. It’s packed with healthy ingredients but tastes like an indulgence. Best of all, you’ve got your coffee and breakfast all together so you can get your day started on the right foot!

Our coffee smoothie starts with the most important part – smooth brewed Charleston Coffee Roasters Coffee.  Our Rainforest Blend is the perfect choice for this smoothie. The dark roast brings out the chocolate notes in these beans sourced from farms certified by the Rainforest Alliance.  Of course, if you’re making a smoothie, everything needs to be cold. You can use leftover brewed coffee that has been chilled or you can make your own cold brew the day before. If you choose to make your cold brew in advance, you can find our step by step guide here.

For our smoothie, we wanted to add flavor and protein with a creamy nut butter. Almond butter is high in protein and adds additional creaminess to the smoothie.  We get an additional protein boost from protein powder and a scoop of heart-healthy Hemp seeds. Adding frozen banana helps keep everything bound together and adds a little sweetness. And a little bit of cocoa powder highlights the chocolate notes in the Rainforest Blend coffee.

To keep our Coffee Protein Smoothie thick and cold, we like to use coffee ice cubes. Simply freeze leftover coffee in ice trays and pop in the freezer. They’re a great way to froth up your smoothie without watering it down.  We recommend making a big batch so you can also add to your iced coffee as well!

1 cup brewed Charleston Coffee Roasters coffee, chilled
1 cup spinach leaves
1 frozen banana
