Cinnamon Roll Coffee with Maple Cream Cheese Whipped Cream
This fall treat yourself to a steaming mug of Charleston Coffee Roasters Cinnamon Roll Coffee with Maple Cream Cheese Whipped Cream! It has all of the flavors of a homemade cinnamon roll, all rolled up into every sip.
Instead of using store-bought flavoring syrups for our coffee drinks, we like to make our own from scratch. It tastes so much better, has no artificial ingredients and is much more economical. For this recipe, we made a simple syrup with brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla to give it that classic cinnamon roll flavor. But you could also add other warm spices like nutmeg, cloves or cardamom. Or if you want a flavor more like homemade pie, try using apple pie or pumpkin pie spice too.
Any of our Charleston Coffee Roasters roasts would taste delicious in this drink recipe. But a Dark Roast, like our Organic Colombian roast, would be especially good. Our single origin Colombian comes from the Cundinamarca region, and has a bold rich full-bodied taste. But as with all of our coffees, you get that big bold taste with a smooth finish.
What really puts this drink over the top, though, is the maple cream cheese whipped cream that is just like the frosting on a gooey cinnamon roll. Lightly sweetened with maple syrup but slightly tangy from the cream cheese, you will have to resist licking it right off the top of the mug!
Finish it all off with a dusting of toasted ground cinnamon, and some chopped pecans (if you like) for a truly indulgent treat for cool mornings.
BROWN SUGAR CINNAMON SIMPLE SYRUP
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cinnamon stick
Pinch of salt
- Place all the ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer and stir just until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from the heat and chill syrup until ready to make coffee.
MAPLE CREAM CHEESE WHIPPED CREAM
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup whipped cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Place all ingredients in a small bowl.
- Stir to combine, and then whisk until soft peaks hold.
- Keep in the refrigerator until ready to make coffee.
CINNAMON ROLL COFFEE
1 cup strong brewed Charleston Coffee Roasters coffee, such as Organic Colombian
1 ounce Brown Sugar Cinnamon Simple Syrup
1/4 cup steamed milk
Maple Cream Cheese Whipped Cream
Toasted ground cinnamon and chopped pecans for garnish (optional)
- Stir together the coffee, simple syrup and steamed milk in a mug.
- Top with the maple cream cheese whipped cream, and garnish with cinnamon and pecans if desired.
