Charleston Coffee Roasters Limited Edition Micro Lots

Limited edition micro lot series COFFEE

Introducing our Micro Lot Series featuring small lot, single origin coffees grown in limited quantities on small farms in premium coffee growing regions around the world. Each coffee in our Micro Lot Series has a special story we’ll share, and features a lot number on the label, ensuring traceability back to its specific country, region, and producer.

Our founder, Lowell Grosse, spent 17 years in the coffee importing business prior to starting Charleston Coffee Roasters in 2005. Over the years, he built relationships with coffee producers at “source” in coffee growing regions from Central and South America to Africa and Indonesia and beyond. Lowell and our team of talented roasters personally select these unique coffees, and slow roast each Micro Lot to introduce you to some very special flavors from around the world.

We’ll offer new Micro Lots throughout the year, so you can enjoy each one-of-a-kind coffee while it lasts. But please order quickly if you’re interested as each Micro Lot is specially roasted in a limited supply. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Discover Ethiopian Natural Guji Uraga COFFEE

Map of Ethiopia
Ethiopian Mountains Gedeb

This natural Guji Uraga medium roast coffee, lot # #010-0568-0007, is grown and processed in Ethiopia, known to be the birthplace of coffee. Its coffee varietals include heirloom coffee cultivars that are grown by 19 female coffee farmers in the Uraga district at very high altitudes of 6,500 feet. This farm has focused on sustainable agricultural methods including agroforestry, to balance the CO2 emissions the coffee plants generate. The coffee is naturally processed and dried on raised beds at the Yismashewa Drying Station in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. This station has been operational for 15 years and is led by Lego Tiba Malde and her family, which has been providing local employment to nearly 130 women in this region.

Explore Ibisi-Mountain Coffee from Rwanda

Ibisi mountains

Our medium roast Ibisi-Mountain coffee, Lot #237, is grown and processed on Ibisi Mountain in southern Rwanda. This coveted red bourbon varietal is grown at an altitude at 5,500 feet at Bernard Uwitje’s farm. The coffee is dried on raised beds for 10 – 14 days, using a natural process, where the coffee is laid out to dry within the cherry. This gives the beans their fruit-forward flavor with a delightful sweetness.  Bernard partnered with the Rwanda Trading Company to build his Ibisi Mountain washing station. Through RTC’s investments in agribusiness training programs during the past 10 years, producer partners have seen an 86% increase in farm revenue.
