Coffee Profile
Costa Rica Tarrazu: Our Costa Rican coffee comes from the exalted region of Tarrazu. This region is blessed with the finest soils and the highest altitudes in the country which produces exceptional coffees. The beans we have selected come from the single estate “Dota”, which has won numerous awards for the coffees they grow. The beans mature slowly and are exceptionally dense, producing high notes as well as full body. As you drink this coffee you will be delighted by the bright citrus flavors which seem to dance on your tongue.
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe: Our Ethiopian coffee is from the Yirgacheffe region in the district of Gedeb within the Gedeo zone, approximately 400 kilometers south of Addis Ababa. The beans are sourced from METAD, a family-owned, community-conscious company which provides a high-quality standard for both their beans as well as the treatment of their employees. We roast this coffee to a lighter profile, in order to preserve and enhance the natural fruit-forward flavor of the bean. It possesses a mild body that is very smooth, bright and pleasant. This bean has a unique berry flavor that is hard to miss, with a citrus finish and floral aroma.
Tanzanian Peaberry: Looking south across the border of Kenya into Tanzania, you see two extinct volcanoes, Mount Kilimanjaro and the smaller Mount Meru. Around these mountains there is a micro- climate that results in superb fertile lands full of banana groves and coffee plantations. It is in these rich soils that our featured Tanzanian peaberry is grown. Peaberry is the term for a coffee berry that produces a single, small oval bean instead of the more typical pair of larger, flat-sided beans. This only happens in 3-5% of Arabica coffee production. These beans have intensely concentrated orange and lemon citrus notes with a lighter body than their larger normal cousins. Enjoy the big taste that these small beans produce.
