Coffee Profile
Introducing our Micro Lot Series featuring small lot, single origin coffees grown in limited quantities on small farms in premium coffee growing regions around the world. Each coffee in our Micro Lot Series has a special story we’ll share, and features a lot number on the label, ensuring traceability back to its specific country, region, and producer.
Our medium roast Ethiopian Gedeb, Lot #0515, from the Gedeb Gotiti washing station, is grown in the Yirgacheffe region which is known as the birthplace of coffee. The coffee varietals are heirloom cultivars indigenous to Ethiopia including Kumie, Siga, and Wilsho. The coffee is grown in the shade on steep mountain slopes at an altitude of 6,500 feet above sea level, pulped and allowed to ferment naturally for 28 hours, and then washed and sun dried on raised beds for 18 days. The result is a bright and complex coffee, with subtle tea undertones specific to the famous Yirgacheffe terroir.
